To all prospective BosMUN delegates: The BosMUN staff has worked hard to create an intellectually stimulating and challenging experience. We are ensuring that you have the best of what both Boston University and MIT have to offer.

We are using small committees to increase opportunities for participation. There are no large General Assembly committees here. Our goals are to allow you as many opportunities to exchange ideas as possible, and to focus a bit more on the substantive issues of the topics rather than the politics of debate. Our committees allow you to work toward solutions, rather than work to be heard.

We offer our amazingly enthusiastic staff, all of whom are extremely excited about their committees. Many are doing research on the topics their committees are offering and thus are very passionate about the issues. The diversity of staff's interests is reflected in our choices of topics and committee formats. They are looking forward to seeing their enthusiasm mirrored in their delegates.

We are offering not just the expertise of our staff, but the expertise of the professors at both of our universities. You will have the opportunity to listen to and exchange ideas with some of the top professors in the topics discussed. Many of these professors are or have been advisors to the White House, United Nations, and other agencies that have a stake in the issues that will be discussed. We hope that you draw as much from their real-world experiences, as they can from the your fresh perspectives.

We are giving you the opportunity to see what technology can do. The facilities of MIT will be at your disposal from libraries to computer labs. In addition, you will get to take advantage of the enhanced experience the combination of our network and audio/visual equipment and software can provide in crisis simulations. We are trying our best not just to put you in the shoes of real policy-makers, but give you the chance to determine what policy-making can be with extensive communications technology and resources.

We will give you a taste of university life. Tours will be offered for both universities, as well as a chance to speak with admissions officers. You will be given many opportunities to interact with the staff, professors, and see the university to give you an idea of what to expect when you are investigating colleges.

We are bringing all we have to the table and look forward to you providing us with as great of an experience as we hope we are able to provide for you. Our entire staff is looking forward to meeting you in March, so we hope that you will join us for what is sure to be an unforgettable weekend!
