Dear Delegates and Faculty Advisors,
It is our pleasure to invite you to the First Annual Boston
Invitational Model United Nations Conference, which will take place on
March 15-17th, 2002.
BosMUN is a joint conference for high school students run by college
students from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Boston
University Model
United Nations programs. We hope that this blend of staff will provide
delegates with an eclectic mix of personalities and styles, ensuring a
unique
experience for all participants. Our purpose in running this
conference will be to facilitate a unique learning experience for
up-and-coming young debaters
in both novice and advanced environments.
There will be 10 committees: five fast-paced crisis committees and five
non-crisis committees. During the conference, the BOSMUN staff hopes
to take full
advantage of the MIT and BU resources to provide an innovative and
cutting-edge experience for the delegates. BOSMUN strives to be unique
in that we will
implement audio-visual and information technology to enhance the
traditional committee environment to the utmost degree.
BOSMUN will be held in beautiful downtown Boston and Cambridge areas.
For those schools that are interested, tours of Boston, MIT, and BU will
be made
available. There will also be a delegate dance as well as regal
opening and closing ceremonies with exceptional keynote speakers.
Currently, we are still in the process of gathering information to help
make this conference the great success that we hope for. We strongly
encourage
all of you, whether students or faculty, to contact us with
suggestions, comments, or questions so that we can ensure this
conference contains all that
you want.
Thus far, the BOSMUN staff has been working diligently in preparation
to ensure the operation of a successful conference. We look forward to
hosting a competitive,
diplomatic debate, which will provide an effective learning environment
for all delegates. Thank you for your interest.
Best Wishes,
|
